Where do the proceeds of the PErmit program go?

The proceeds from the Permit Program go towards offsetting the costs of providing waste management services, a Harvester Orientation Package (Mapping and additional resources) and emergency response assistance .

When do permits expire?

A Permit is valid until July 31, 2018. 

Who needs a permit?

Anyone who enters the Secwépemc Territory to harvest, buy or sell morel mushrooms is required to have a valid permit.

What area does the permit cover?

The Permit covers the Elephant Hill Fire Area only. The Elephant Hill Fire Area is an area within the Secwépemc Territory. The Area is defined on the Safe Operations Map included in the Harvester Orientation Package.

Is mushroom picking allowed in provincial Parks?

Mushroom picking is prohibited in provincial parks as per Sections 10(2) and 32(1) of the Park, Conservancy and Recreation Area Regulations.

How much does a permit cost?

There are 3 permit types (Harvester, Camping and Buyer).  Cost and other permit details can be found here.
